Last night’s Met Gala was one of the biggest nights in fashion and the celebrity outfits did not disappoint!
For those who don’t know, each year the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute hosts a gala. Cameras flash as the biggest, brightest stars in film, fashion, and music (as well as industry insiders) come together to view the exhibits that meld art and fashion. This year’s exhibition was titled “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations”. According to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the exhibit “explores the striking affinities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two Italian designers from different eras”. The artsy yet fabulous vibe of this soiree gives attendees the opportunity to take chances with fashion that are normally not seen at awards shows and other red-carpet events. As with any fashion risk, the results can be hit or miss. Some played it safe by wearing this season’s hottest trends such as orange (which is the new black), floral prints, and lace. Some celebrities, such as super model Karolina Kurkova, took risks that were absolutely fabulous while others just fell flat (what were you thinking, Mary-Kate?). What did you curvy fashionistas think of the designs at the Met Gala last night? Who hit it out of the park and who missed it by a mile?

Editor in Chief of Vouge and gatekeeper of the fashion industry, Anna Wintour. She wore this white Prada creation on the red carpet. Only she can get away with fur in May!

Beyonce turned heads as she showed off her post-baby body in a Givency gown. Is it just me or was she giving a subtle nod to her newborn baby, BlueIvy, with the “ivy” design on the bodice and blue train of her gown?
