Solange Knowles has been known for her beauty and style. As a spokeswoman for Carol’s daughter since April 2011, she encompassed the brand’s passion for beauty and grace. She recently had a major campaign with their new transition kit for those who are going “natural”. It led to am amazing following in what has become one of the largest movements in hair care. There have been several articles, celebs and press surrounding the “going natural”. It has even been a huge story line in the Style network’s reality show: Chicagolicious, which centers around a salon that is famous for working with natural hair. After working on the transitioning movement campaign, Solange faced a lot of issues that dealt with her natural hair look. The campaign was amazing for business, but took a toll on the model/fashion icon. After reading an unflattering blog post of her look being “unkempt”, she went on a twitter rant mentioning that she “didn’t want to talk about no damn hair……no mo”. This was just a highlight of different issues caused by criticisms in her look. The rep for Carol’s Daughter, Steve Stoute, chairman and lead investor of the beauty brand, issued the following statement: “Carol’s Daughter celebrates women who embody beauty by nature such as Solange. We value our relationship with her and the women we were able to empower by partnering with such an authentic spirit.” This was the nicest way to say that their relationship was over. Despite this, they still have great celebrity endorses such as Jada Pinkett Smith and Mary J Blige.
