It was an incredible night for the music industry at the Grammy’s this past Sunday. Many were celebrated with wins and as well as prayers. It was also a great night for country music with Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift collecting honors. As always there were many gorgeous gowns, hair and makeup to see. Here are a couple of the fabulous makeup looks of the evening:
Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum looked gorgeous in her Monique Llhuillier gown and gorgeous straight hair. Her makeup look was created by celebrity makeup artist Terri Apanasewicz using only Tarte Cosmetics:
Overall Inspiration: “Her dress faded from black to burgundy, so I took the colors from her dress and incorporated them into a colorful cat eye-it completely lit up her gorgeous green eyes.” -celebrity makeup artist Terri Apanasewicz
FACE: To begin Terri used tarte’s smooth operator™ Amazonian clay waterproof concealer under her eyes, then applied tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 15, with tarte’s new airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush. Then she dusted Amazonian clay bronzer in park ave princess under her cheekbones to contour the hollows of her cheeks.
CHEEKS: For the perfect pop of color she brushed on tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in dollface, a light baby pink, on the apples of her cheeks. She finished by adding luminosity to her complexion with tarte’s Amazonian clay shimmering powder in champagne over her blush.
EYES: She sculpted her brows with emphasEYES™ Amazonian clay waterproof brow pencil. She lined the inner rims of the eyes with tarte’s smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in fig and then went over it with emphasEYES™ high-definition inner rim eyeliner black pencil. Then she drew smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in fig along her lash line toward her temple, creating a glamorous cat eye. To make her green eyes pop, she dusted matte plum from neutralEYES eye shadow palette over the liner. She followed by lining her lower lashline with smolderEYES Amazonian clay waterproof liner in fig to complete the winged effect. For extra volume and dramatic separation on her upper lashes, Terri used two coats of tarte’s lights, camera, lashes! clinically-proven mascara.
Taylor Swift in Covergirl:
DRESS: Taylor selected a sublime Zuhair Murad gown to wear to the Grammys, and that was the inspiration for the look. The gown had gorgeous hand beading and detailing, and because of that Taylor decided to keep it clean and simple with her makeup and hair.
FACE: Taylor’s complexion is absolutely gorgeous and I really wanted it to show through—there is no reason to mask it with a heavy foundation. COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation was applied very sparingly with a damp sponge, followed with a touch of COVERGIRL TruBlend Minerals Blush in Shimmering Sands giving a natural flush and glow to her skin.
EYES: Taylor’s eye makeup started with a sweep of COVERGIRL Intense ShadowBlast in Brown Bling from lash line to just above the crease and then I took it out a bit using my finger. Taylor loves this color, as it is the perfect natural shadow color–not too grey or orange. It’s really perfect. We followed with COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers in Tapestry Taupe in the crease and Golden Sunset on the lid. I ran COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Brown Blaze along the top and bottom lash line and smudged it a bit with a cotton bud. For the lashes, I used COVERGIRL LashBlast 24 Hour Mascara. It really makes her blue eyes stand out.
LIPS: Taylor wanted her lips to be very natural, so I applied COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipcolor in Enthrall to her lips with my fingertip to push the color in — leaving a nice stain on her lips.
We hope you enjoyed this night in music as much as we did! Congratulations to all the winners.
